I am not the first Lady says the wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari.
I am the wife of the President and will be addressed as such going forward. With her large smile that easily lights up a room, Mrs Buhari’s sense of direction is established.
Her jovial nature belies a strong personality who says what she thinks.
Speaking at the Appreciation Dinner held last night ,June 13th at the state house , mrs Buhari shared some of the challenges experienced on the campaign trail, ensuring that she diffused a potential life threatening situation with light laughter which shows her sense of balanced perspective on the trials that come with being in the public glare.
She attributed the success of the camapaign to team work and was profoundly greatful to the team , women and youth that helped vote her husband into office.
She also attributed all her success and achievements to the support of the President who encouraged her to go to school even while raising 5 children where she eventually got her Master’s degree in International affairs and Strategic studies from the Nigerian Defence Acadmy NDA
“We are celebrating our victory” she said and for every victory celebration, there is a party and a party it was indeed with beautifully and fashionably women from every state in the nation across every class ably represented seated as peers.
Also in attendance was the wife of the Vice President Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo, who also celebrated the women who came en-masse to vote despite challenging situations, she regaled us with a story of the egg seller who had never flown in an airplane but was flown in for the party and was bring her eggs and how security did not allow the eggs on the plane.
Mrs Osinbajo told us of how Mrs Buhari had continuously spoken about the Chibok girls and how meeting with the parents was a priority.
With an agenda ,giving focus to women issues, the wife of the president wants to see more women in the legislature even from the local government level.
While observing the decline of women in the legislative , a situation she hopes to help reverse; she believes empowerment from the ward level will better affect the ordinary woman on the street which was a point she highlighted in an interview with a local news station during the election campaigning.
Nicknamed ‘Gogo of Africa” by Hajia Ramatu Tijani, the APC National women’s leader gogo means ‘Caregiver”, Mrs Aisha Buhari has been described as someone who will want to share your burden, an advocate for those treated unfairly,a strong supporter of the rights of women, jovial and gentle natured , she is prepared to share her beloved husband with the rest of the world, she quips “He belogs to the whole world and he belongs to nobody”

Saraki Holds Peace Talks With Aggrieved Senators
Senate President Bukola Saraki has started reaching out to the All Peoples Congress leadership and colleagues opposed to his emergence as the head of the National Assembly.
A senator loyal to him, Rafiu Ibrahim, made this known in Abuja on Sunday just as The PUNCH learnt that the APC leadership decided to soft-pedal on its initial opposition to the outcomes of the National Assembly leadership elections in order to stave off rebellion by its lawmakers.
Ibrahim said, “We are currently meeting with our colleagues in the Senate. Apart from the fact that the Senate President has been meeting with those who are aggrieved , we, members of the Like Minds Senators are also engaging them on one-on-one basis.
“We are also meeting with our party leadership and I think the peace moves are achieving good result. It is in the interest of everybody that we have a united Senate.”
Some members of the Senate Unity Forum who are loyalists of Senator Lawan, also confirmed that Saraki and some of his supporters were making overtures to them.
The senators, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity because their leaders had barred them from granting interviews on the issue were, however, silent on whether the Saraki group offered them anything in return for their support.
A ranking senator from one of the South-West states said Saraki personally discussed with him on the matter.
He said, “It is true that the Like Minds Senators have been talking with us to support the leadership of Saraki but we told them that we are not having any personal issues with the Senate president and his deputy, Ekweremadu.
“We are upholding the sanctity of our political party and its leadership. We have told them our conditions for mutual relationship and cooperation. It is left for them to take appropriate actions.”
Another senator from the South-West also explained that the SUF members would meet this week to review the reply of their party’s leadership to their conditions.
The group had through its spokesperson, Senator Kabiru Marafa, said it was demanding the immediate resignation of Ekweremadu and the investigation of the Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa, for his role in the June 9 Senate inauguration.
Our correspondents however gathered in Abuja on Sunday that the APC leaders opted to sheathe their sword after the Presidency reportedly intervened in the matter.
The APC had in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday described the victory of Saraki and Yakubu Dogara as “unacceptable.”
Saraki, a former Kwara State governor, beat APC choice, Ahmed Lawan, to clinch the post while Dogara defeated Femi Gbajabiamila.
Describing Saraki and Dogara’s decisions to defy its directive and vie for the posts as an act of “monumental indiscipline and betrayal,” the party vowed to sanction them in accordance with the provisions of its constitution.
However, after a series of consultations, the National Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, on Friday announced that they were ready to work with Saraki and Dogara.
A prominent member of the APC,who pleaded for anonymity, explained to one of our correspondents that what Odigie-Oyegun said represented the position of the party’s National Working Committee.
He added that the APC was aware that if it kept to its hard line on the matter, the National Assembly members who backed Saraki and Dogara might rebel against it (APC).
The party member said, “We have to live with the reality that Saraki and Dogara are the new leaders of the National Assembly. We don’t want a rebellion from our Senators and House members.
“However, those who defied us and did what they did will face a panel which will give them fair hearing before a disciplinary action.”
Asked what the disciplinary action would be, he replied, “Even a warning is a form of sanction.
“We have no intention to open ourselves up to what the Peoples Democratic Party did to itself in the case of (Aminu)Tambuwal .
“When he (Tambuwal) emerged against their (PDP) will, instead of finding a way to manage it, they alienated him until he left them with a lot of his colleagues to join us (APC). We will not allow this to happen to us.”
The party source also revealed that as part of efforts to further douse tension, Saraki and Dogara would be prevailed upon not to sideline their defeated colleagues.
Towards this end, they are expected to concede the chairmanship of some of choice committees in both the Senate and the House to members of the other camp.
When asked if indeed Saraki had waved the Olive branch before the party’s leadership and if indeed it had accepted to work with Saraki and Dogara, the APC spokesman, referred him to Odigie-Oyegun.
But calls to the mobile telephone number of Odigie-Oyegun were neither picked nor returned.
However, The PUNCH learnt that the leadership of the APC had taken a position that the remaining seats in the House of Representatives like the Majority Leader, Chief Whip, Deputy Leader and Deputy Whip, were party seats.
Another top APC member said, “The party has come into these positions because they are party seats and the party reserves the power to share it to the zones.
What we hear is that, to calm nerves, Femi Gbajabiamila(the defeated APC choice candidate for the House speakership) will be the majority leader, while a member from Kano State, Mr. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, will be his deputy.
“Monguno will likely be the chief whip while Pally Iriase from Edo State, will deputise for him.”
But a former House spokesman and influential member of the 8th Assembly, Zakari Mohammed, said that replacing an elected presiding officer with another person was not possible.
Mohammed noted that it was likely that people were making speculations in view of the outcomes of the elections.
But he parried a question on what role the House or the party would assign to Gbajabiamila.
“I don’t know, I can’t comment on that one,” he said
Aregbesola Promises To Pay Workers Before June Ends
Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has promised to pay workers in the state their salaries before the end of this month.
The governor made the promise in a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Sunday by his media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon.
Most workers are being owed seven month salaries but the statement is silent on whether the governor would pay the backlog or he would pay part of the salaries.
The statement read in part, “Before the end of June, workers would be paid their salaries.”
The governor stated that he had a great dream for the state and that was why he was in a hurry to begin many programmes which had earned him applause even outside the country.
He said further, “The dream has not gone awry and it is a clear vision that Osun must be on its feet, self-reliant and be a reference point in Nigeria.
The race to ensure development within the first term of Aregbesola was informed by the fear of what is happening now.
“Aregbesola wanted an Osun that is self-reliant. That Osun, almost two decades after its creation, could not boast of tax-paying companies speaks volume about the magnitude of the works that awaited the Aregbesola administration.
“But he did not shy away from this task of industrialisation. Within his first term, his government had caused investors to bring up companies such as the Omoluabi Garment Factory, Osogbo, Adulawo/RLG Technology company in Ilesa.
“Just last month, a leading telephone line company, Airtel, came to establish partnership with the Adulawo/RLG company.
These are aside the various agro-allied companies which have benefited from the growth schemes of the Aregbesola administration throughout the state.
“The government has also commenced aggressive drive for the development of the solid mineral sector with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with an Australian mining firm, Andalusian Mining Industry.
“It was in the same vein that the idea of an airport for aircraft maintenance was conceived.
“Only a lazy administration would accept the tag of Osun as a “civil servant” state as excuse for not developing initiatives for industrialisation.
“To accept that our state must continue to survive on the meagre inflow through what goes to the civil servants alone is to accept that we would continue to depend on external forces for our survival.
“We must work hard to give our people many choices. If you want to work in the civil service, it must be the choice that our people make on their own volition and not that there are no other choices regardless of their education, qualifications and expertise.”
“People must not forget that Lagos, in 1999 when former Governor Bola Tinubu took over, was generating a paltry sum.
It was the ingenious interventions and immediate provisions of infrastructure that lured investors in to create various opportunities for the people and made tax administration much easier for what is now today’s Lagos. This feat can be repeated in Osun and other parts of Nigeria.”
Buhari To Visit Cameroon Over Boko Haram
Muhammadu Buhari is planning to visit Cameroon to cement a regional fighting force against Boko Haram, he told AFP on Monday.
Buhari met his counterparts from Niger, Chad and Benin at a summit in Abuja last week but Cameroon’s leader Paul Biya was noticeably absent and represented by his defence minister.
The two countries have long had strained ties, in part over a bitter territorial dispute but also after Boko Haram mounted cross-border raids into northeast Nigeria from Cameroon’s far north.
Buhari visited Niger and Chad in his first week in office and said he would have gone to Cameroon’s capital Yaounde for talks with Biya had he not been invited to attend the G7 summit in Germany.
“But on my return to Nigeria now, I will try to go to Cameroon,” he said on the sidelines of the African Union summit in Johannesburg.
Last week’s Abuja summit rubber-stamped an 8,700-strong regional force involving the five countries to replace an ad hoc coalition of Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon.
The current force came into being after Chad’s President Idriss Deby sent troops to assist their Cameroonian counteparts against a wave of attacks by the Islamist militants.
Troops from Niger and Chad have crossed into Nigerian territory but those from Cameroon have not in an indication of the strained relations between the neighbours.
But Buhari indicated last Thursday that soldiers from the new Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) would not be restricted in terms of movement.
The MNJTF will be headed by a Nigerian officer for the duration of the mission, with his deputy from Cameroon for an initial 12 months once troops are deployed from July 30.
Buhari has made crushing Boko Haram his immediate priority since coming to power on May 29 and he said in the interview that foreign support was vital.
“The most important support is intelligence. What we are looking for from the G7… is intelligence. We want help in terms of logistics,” he said.
“Boko Haram declared that they are in alliance with ISIS, so terrorism has gone international. They are in Mali, they are in Nigeria, they are in Syria, they are in Iraq, they are in Yemen…
“It’s an international problem now,” he said.
RCCG Will Produce A President – Pastor Adeboye.
The general overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has once again used his mathematical skills to explain another important issue. The brilliant mathematician come general overseer took his time to talk explain in both mathematical and biblical terms, the two linear equations to success. The general overseer during a programme organised for leaders and potential leaders at the RCCG national headquarters, Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Meta in Lagos spoke about how he turns to mathematics even when he does not understand a life situation, bible passages and all. He reiterated how mathematics can explain lots of things.
He used the biblical king Nebuchadnezzar as an example, urging all leaders to be always allow God in whatever they do. He also advised them that in all they do, they should let God, who put them in position of power, lead them. He recollected how he prophesied that members of the church will become presidents and vice presidents, how he said world leaders will come and worship in church and how lots of the members at that time didn’t believe but said amen to the prophecy.
“It is not by your power that you become anything, it is God who gives power and any power that be is from the Almighty God. Whatever you see happening, God is involved and that is why He instructed us to obey those in authority because God puts them there.
“Put your trust and limitations in the Almighty God who is unlimited. Great men are limited by sleep. No matter how strong you are, you will sleep but we have Almighty God who neither sleeps nor slumbers. No matter how powerful you are, you are limited by death, incurable disease but thank God who always heals our infirmities ”. “It takes the Holy Spirit to make the impossible possible. Several years ago, when the Redeemed Christian Church of God was still very small and I mean very small, I told them what God said that presidents will come here to worship but their amen was very weak.
“I moved further to say that God says more than that. God said presidents will be members of the church. They will be ushers but the members then find it difficult to swallow that but mark my words, whenever God speaks, the Holy Spirit sanctioned it. “Also in our London church which was fewer than us here in Nigeria, I told them that royalties will come to the church and worship; they giggled and said amen. I went further that God said nobody will be in government without our permission and they laughed”, he said
Just few days ago, the vice president of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, and pastor Enoch Adeboye called on Nigerians to be honest in everything they do.

Cool FM’s Freeze Talks About His Extensive Wristwatch Collection, Says Michael Kors Is For Poor People
During a recent interview with Saturday Punch , Cool FM OAP Ifedayo Olarinde a.k.a. Freeze, talked about his extensive watch collection, the fake lifestyle of Nigerian artistes, and why he would
never be caught wearing Michael Kors.
You can catch excerpts of the interview below.
When you say a collection, how many are you talking about?
Not like how many, like how much. I have maybe $200,000 in wristwatches. What I am
wearing now is a Rolex Daytona, I got it from Polo for Christmas. It cost about $30,000. Polo is Nigeria’s only authorised dealer, so I bought it from the company and I love it. I
love pens too. Sometimes I could just be like a woman. I love things that shine but not all the time. I like cufflinks, pens but I am not the
necklace or a bracelet kind of guy. Though I wear bracelets once in a while; so I like my cufflinks, pens and wristwatches, any attire that would show them off, I am good with it...
What wouldn’t you be caught wearing?
Michael Kors. I am sorry but I just think that brand is so razz. First their name, I think their name is so razz. Not exactly the name, it is
the brand, all you have for the logo is MK. Their products are loud, ugly and cheap. I see someone wearing a Michael Kors watch and I see it as they are trying so hard to wear Rolex
gold but can’t afford that so the next thing is to pick up Michael Kors. I would rather take equally priced designer but with a bit more class and less noise. I would never be caught wearing that. Designers I like are Tom Ford, Gucci, I love LV shoes that are not monogrammed. I like Hermes; I think that is a really brilliant designer. I like the fact that they play with orange a lot...
What is your take on celebrities posting photos of their expensive fashion items on their social media accounts?
First thing first, for all the entertainers putting up pictures of their accessories on Instagram, can they please tweet the receipt from an authorised dealer. Trust me, I have seen too many celebs wear fake stuffs. You can tell that they don’t know what they are wearing. Of course, there are a few brand names like D’banj, Don Jazzy, P-Square or Wizkid that would not wear fake. I have seen them wear
good watches. But there are some other people who I have seen wear funny looking pieces. There was one particular musician that i saw wearing a Rolex and the gold was
fading. Rolex never uses gold plates, they use pure gold. If you see anything gold on a Rolex, it is pure gold. When I saw that, I was disappointed at the musician especially because of the level of respect I had for the musician. There is no such thing like buying a Rolex with a credit card. You can’t buy a Rolex with a credit card; who are you? Diddy? For you to be able to walk away with a £20,000 watch, you would have a substantial amount of money in that card....
Buh this guy can form sha,,,,ma opinion though

Only God saved me during students protest , says LASU VC
The Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University, western Nigeria , Prof . John Obafunwa, on Friday told members of the state House of Assembly that he was only saved
from protesting students of the institution by the grace of God.
The students had embarked on a violent protest on Thursday in which they vandalised school property as well as some cars belonging the Vice Chancellor and other top staff of the institution . They were aggrieved that they were not allowed to write the second semester
examination with their colleagues for not completing their registration.
“If certain things had worked out , we would certainly have been talking about obituary by now because they said so many things that I would not want to repeat here”
But the President of the Students ’ Union Government of the institution , Mojirade Hassan, told the lawmakers, during her presentation ,
that the SUG had alerted the VC of an impending protest that could turn violent. She said the VC told her team that he was fully prepared for any of the students ’ protests.
The House had summoned the management of the institution , the Governing Council led by Bode Augusto, the state Commissioner for
Education, Olayinka Oladunjoye , and members of the institution ’ s SUG over the protest . Mr. Augusto and other members of
management told the House how the management beat its rules to open the portal for registration but that the students stubbornly refused to register.
A female management staff also said they were “in the valley of the shadows of death ” while the protest lasted adding that some of the
protesters were masked as they carried out the destruction. “They were masked and planned to kill , ” she said .
She said it became impossible to re - open the portal as the date of the examination approached since everything was digitalised and the lecturers needed to know how many
students they should plan for.
Miss Mojirade Hassan told the lawmakers that it was a peaceful protest when the action of the aggrieved students began , but that it was hijacked by outsiders who used the opportunity to steal people ’ s belongings. She said days before the protest , the aggrieved students complained about their inability to
register. Some said they had paid their tuition but that the portal failed as they tried to register. She blamed the institution ’ s management for
allowing students to continue paying their tuition when the same management had shut the portal , as according to her, this was a
primary reason for the protest .
Miss Hassan said she made concerted efforts to make the VC change his decision to no avail . “If the VC had listened to me and taken
my word and even my appeal. She said at a town hall meeting to iron out the issue, “the students were surprised to hear Mr. Bode Augusto telling them of the financial problems being encountered by the school and how the school generates its revenue .
“I told the VC that we want to meet with him and he told me that if it is about the re-opening of the portal, he would disappoint me.
“I begged the VC to re- open the portal for at least just two hours and I informed him that the affected students had threatened to protest
if the portal is not re- opened but he said ‘ they should go ahead, they will meet there ’ . ”
She said on Wednesday , the students had waited patiently with placards at the front of the senate building after learning that the VC
was meeting with other management staff. She said she was called and that , from a
distance, she saw the VC and the other management staff coming out of the senate building and that when the students saw him , they knelt down and were begging that the
portal be opened for even two hours , but that he called their bluff and walked away . She was however able to pacify the angry
students after informing them that the VC had promised to open it the next day.
But on Thursday, the students had thronged the institution only to discover they were deceived .
She said as the tension rose , she called the VC and said he was on top of the situation. “The VC later came, spoke with the Dean of Student Affairs and left, and this was what provoked the students . They had expected the VC to address them but he didn’ t . “The students then took to the streets and I
still called the VC to let him know that the issue had gone out of hand but he told me to pacify the students. I told him it has gone
beyond what I can handle . It was then he told me that he had invited the State Security Service, SSS . If the VC had addressed the students , the issue wouldn’ t have degenerated to violence, ” she said .
While some of the lawmakers berated the students , others blamed the management team for refusing to act on the SUG president ’ s
advice. They also blamed the management for allowing the students to pay their fees when
management had decided to close the portal.
The Speaker , Adeyemi Ikuforiji , who said leaders of the All Progressives Congress and
the state were watching to see how the issue was resolved , later adjourned for about one
hour.
The Speaker , on resumption, said the House had agreed that the management of the
institution carry out immediate assessment and repairs of the damaged school property for
the students to resume . He also said the SUG must write a letter of
apology on behalf of the students who protested. Apart from these, the House said each of the affected students must sign an undertaking to be of good behaviour .
He pleaded on behalf of the House that the portal be re- opened for two days while the lawmakers would pay an on- the -spot visit to
the institution .
Boko Haram forces 6,000 Nigerians to flee to Cameroon, Niger in last 10 days – UN
The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) says nearly 6,000 people have fled the northern parts of Nigeria due to the activities of Boko Haram to
neighbouring Cameroon and Niger in the past 10 days.
UNHCR in its reports made available at the UN Headquarters in New York on Friday, reported that several people had been killed, their villages
bombed and at least two villages burned to the ground. “We continue to urge states in the region to keep
their borders open for Nigerians who are fleeing their country and may need international protection.
“We are also advising against any forced returns,’’ the report quoted the UNHCR spokesperson, Adrian Edwards, as saying. States of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe have been under state-of-emergency since May 2013 as the army fights Boko Haram insurgents. “Of the more than 4,000, who fled to Cameroon since mid-January, most are in the Logone-et-Chari area of Far North Region.
“With this new influx, there are now 12,428 Nigerian refugees in Cameroon, according to local
Cameroonian authorities. Of that number 2,183 have so far been moved to a UNHCR camp at Minawao, 130 kilometres further inland.
“Together with partner agencies we are providing refugees with shelter, health, sanitation, education, food, and other help,’’ UNHCR said.
The agency noted that its team in Cameroon’s far North region had spoken with refugees from the
area around Banki, a town just across the border in Nigeria’s Borno State.
“The refugees said their villages were bombed, that several people had been killed, and that at least two villages were burned to the ground,” it said.
According to UNHCR, in Niger, 1,500 new refugees, mostly women and children, arrived in the Diffa region of south-east Niger. It added that the refugees said that they fled because of January16 attack of a mosque in the village of Gashagar, just across the border. Seven people were reportedly killed during the attack, and seven cars and 60 shops were
burned. Attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on Borno border communities and satellite villages to Maiduguri have increased since the beginning of the year.
The most recent occurred on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in farming communities
around Maiduguri. Residents said they buried 18 of their neighbours on Wednesday after gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram
attacked their communities. Many other people were injured and several houses were burnt in the attack. A resident of Njaba Village, Wadai Mutah, who vame to the hospital to attend to five of his
relatives that sustained bullet wounds in the attack, narrated how the attack occurred.
“Our village was attacked by Boko Haram members on Tuesday and they killed 10 people and set the whole village on fire before leaving,”
he said. Mr. Mutah also said a neigbouring village was attacked the next day.
“At the neighbouring Kaya Village, which was attacked on Wednesday, eight people were killed when the Boko Haram attacked, shooting our
people and burning their houses.
“Mude and Kwaljiri villages were also attacked and totally destroyed on the same day but the villagers escaped unhurt and ran to Njaba as they did not know that we had been attacked the day before,” he said.
One of the survivors of the Njaba attack at the State Specialists’ Hospital, Pogu Wovi, narrated how he survived the attack.
“It was after the late evening meals and we were sitting outside when we heard gunshots from various directions,” Mr. Wovi told PREMIUM
TIMES in Hausa. “There was confusion, with women and children crying for help. I hurt my leg while trying to escape in the dark night but I had to drag myself to the bush and remained there till morning”. Mr. Wovi, who said he is about 45-years-old, said soldiers arrived much later after the attackers had
left to give first aid treatment to injured victims in the attacked villages.
“It was when we were receiving first aid treatment that I was told that 10 people had been killed in the attack. On Wednesday, when Mude, Kwaljiri and Kaya villages were attacked people from there told us that 8 people had been killed in Kaya while Mude and Kwaljiri villages were
completely burnt; but all the villagers escaped,” he said.

Woman duped of $500,000 on a Christian site
This dating scam didn't just break
hearts, it broke the bank, too: A San Jose woman, 66, was conned out of $500,000 on ChristianMingle.com after a Nigerian man, pretending to be UK citizen "David Holmes befriended her on the site. After several phone calls, texts, and even a bouquet of flowers, the woman agreed to give "David" a $300,000 loan for his supposed oil business. She refinanced her home and dug into her retirement account to fork
over the funds—but it wasn't enough. He asked for $200,000 more, which the woman wired to a
bank in Turkey, before she caught on and alerted authorities, CBS News reports. When a Nigerian associate of the man turned up to withdraw the money—he'd entered Turkey
using a fake passport, the San Fransisco Chronicle reports—he was arrested on suspicion of committing fraud, and the woman got her
$200,000 back. The rest of her money is "just impossible to track down," the deputy district attorney says. The man behind the scam remains free, but his Skype account and email address were traced to Nigeria, which is "a hot bed of online scams," she notes. As for the man's profile picture? It was a snapshot of a male model he'd picked up on the web. "You get the love drug in you and you end up getting duped," the deputy district attorney adds.

Our skit wasn't to hurt Jim Iyke
As it's no longer news that actor,
Jim Iyke was delivered’ at the
Synagogue Church of All Nations, Lagos, the old gist is yet to die down, especially after comedian AY turned it to a skit. The controversial actor had now commented
on the skit which also featured Helen Paul, saying, “People cross the lines sometimes for relevance. It disappoints if it comes from people you deemed to have self respect.Classless.”
But reacting to the actor’s comments, Helen said the skit was just a joke and not necessarily meant to hurt Jim Iyke even as the video has now gone viral. "It is just a joke. I am an actress and a
senior colleague called me for a job. I was given the script and I acted my part. We did not mean to hurt Jim Iyke. In the skit, I was portrayed as a prostitute but
that is not what Helen Paul is about,” she said. She also added that the alleged ‘deliverance’ was something that was talked about a lot and that was probably why he was mentioned in the skit. She stressed
that the skit was purely for humour
purpose and not malicious in any way.
However, ace comedian, AY said he
would not comment on the issue as he and Iyke are friends. It has also been reported that when the video went viral and the news broke early in the week, the comedian known for his hilarious skit contemplated on a response but later said that he and the actor were friends and would settle their differences like friends do.
Meanwhile, online commentators who found the joke funny were quick to lash insults back at Jim Iyke as they made it known that it was just a comedy skit and nothing serious. The video had thousands of views on YouTube and Jim Iyke’s comment came a few weeks after the comedian’s channel was ranked as the number one most watched channel in Africa.

Kanye like a sweet uncle to 'blue ivy'
Kanye West has written a lullaby for Jay Z and Beyoncé's daughter Blue Ivy.
The Bound 2 hitmaker presented the track to the tiny tot - who celebrated her second birthday on 7 January - as he wanted to do "something personal" for his rap star pal's child.
A source told the daily star newspaper: "Kanye wanted to do something personal for his best friend's baby.
"So he decided he would write and record a lullaby especially for her. It won't be released, it's just for Blue. He hopes it'll help send her off to sleep at night."
Kanye has seven-month-old baby North, who is nicknamed Nori - with reality star fiancé Kim Kardashian - and hopes she'll become friends with Blue.
The lullaby is about how doting dads Kanye - who dropped out of Chicago State University much to the initial displeasure of his mother Donda West when he was 20 - and Jay Z - who grew up in Brooklyn, New York City, in the tough Marcy Houses housing project - will make sure their daughters don't have to face the same struggles they did.
The source added: "It's really catchy and slow. Rather than the usual sweet dreams-themed lullaby songs, Kanye raps about how Blue Ivy and Nori will be mega powerful when they're older. It also mentions how him and Jay Z will work hard to make sure their girls have an easier path than they did....wish to hear the song ooo...

ASUU AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
Now talking about the ongoing strike which entered its 62nd day today, has been an insulting issue which shouldn't have arisen again after past years of the same ASSU strike, going into the negotiation table each time and being given the same assurance that their full demands would be met after resolving part of the negotiations to a certain stage.
